Tempus project, my job

Initial ecstasy has passed and I have started to think more about the whole thing:
What will I do?
1.
The story is like this: At the prestigious technical university in Jordan, they are developing new online courses for their students. This initiative is a (small) part of the Tempus project (educational project of EU started in 1990) and many organizations are involved. AIESEC International is one of them. Our task is to develop 2 master courses for the Jordan university – first one about development and implementation of IS, second one focused on e-Commerce.
Because AI doesn’t have a capacity to carry on such a project, they have selected the CEEDer. Simple, isn’t it? ;-)
Logically, there are many points to be clarified before we can start to work on that, so I will attend meeting directly at the Jordanian university in the mid June, cool!
2. Besides this I’ll be working together with the second CEEDer (System Admin) on making the AI office an effective work environment,
3. and I should also take part in the promotion of new Information System, which is going to be launched on IC 2007 in Turkey.

Well… it seems interesting :-) I’m looking forward how it’ll proceed…

Where will I work?
I’ll work at the AI office, having my seat probably somewhere in the IT corner. In case you’re interested, don’t miss the virtual tour of the AI office HERE.

How long will I be there?
I’ll finish my work sometimes between mid August and mid September, depending on how fast it will go. I will know more after the meeting in Jordan.

Who will I work with?
I should be directly accountable to:
> AI VPIS 06/07 Kiko (Enrique) and 07/08 Abhisek.
> AI Non-Corporate Relations Manager 06/07 Ildi and 07/08 Anisha
I’m already in touch with Kiko and Ildi and everything is going on great!
The job will also require cooperation with project consortium partners, who I will get to know soon in Jordan as well.

“Hey man! You’re in!!”

As I’ve already written in one of my previous posts, I’ve decided to apply for the AI CEEDer. Mon 21st May - I submitted my application, properly filled, right on time after demanding weekend
Tue 22nd May - I got to know I’ve been prescreened for interview, yes!
Thu 24th May - I took the telephone interview with the AIESEC International Selection Panel, the results will be announced till next Tuesday latest

On Friday we had our LC Day… just before its beginning, while I was having a coffee with my friend, international call interrupted our conversation.
Yes, it was the positive news!! :-)

My plans are about to change completely! I have to shift exams, cancel accommodation, adjust summer trips, refuse summer job… but I’m sure it’s gonna be worth it!!
